After every use, the rope should be thoroughly inspected for dirt, tar buildup, cuts and heavy abrasions. Once tar buildup is observed, great care to clean and remove the buildup should follow. Petroleum/tar will prematurely deteriorate even the highest quality ropes. CLAIM-A-NATOR’s use Beal to protect their ropes, assuring extended usage.

Rope Cleaner

If your hands look like you've been working in a coal mine after a single belay session, it's time to give your cord a bath with some Beal Rope Cleaner. This rope-friendly detergent won't damage polyamide fibers nor will it leave a residue on the sheath.
